“If you can? Said Jesus. ‘Everything is possible for him who believes.”Mark 9:23
On one trip to the village of Nakento, in the Dutania Valley of Papua New Guinea, we had to leave the Jeep at the river and walk to the village because the heavy rains had swollen the river.
When we arrived, the Christians met us, exclaiming that one of the mothers of the village had died. Before her death, she had told her son that she was going to put a curse on him. Then after she died her son tried to leave the gravesite, he felt hands around his neck, choking him.
My response was simple and direct, “Let’s pray!”
We did pray, and then I sent someone to go get the son. The people were hesitant to go to the grave, thinking that he would be choked to death when he tried to leave. “No, we have prayed,” I responded.
To their surprise, they were able to lead the son away from the grave, and he had no choking feeling. We gathered around and prayed a prayer of deliverance. After everyone’s eyes were opened, the son was standing there with a great big smile. That day he received Jesus as his Savior, and many came to Christ because of this miracle.
Christ is an awesome miracle worker. In every situation, nothing is impossible for Him!
Thank you, Lord that nothing is impossible for you. Give me faith to believe and to trust you in these situations that I bring before you today…
