Missionaries: National Leader

Mario de Oliveria

Mario accepted the Lord in 1965. In the years following his conversion, he was responsible for the planting of churches in Uruguaiana, Porto Alegre and Asis. In 1972, he began a radio ministry in Belo Horizonte. The first evangelistic meeting Mario held had over 2,000 people. This meeting gave birth to an initial evangelistic movement that has now birthed over 400 churches in the capital Belo Horizonte alone, and over 600 in the state. Every year, 120,000 people gather to celebrate Good Friday in Belo Horizonte. Mario was elected president of Foursquare Brazil in 1996 and was re-elected in 2000 and again in 2004.
